Consult your doctor before you start exercise program, get a full physical checkup, find a personal trainer and make an appointment with him or her for a consultation. He/She will help you figure out your fitness level, as well as the right way to start a program.
Most adults need at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity at least five days per week. Start Slowly! If you haven’t worked out in a while (or ever) start with a walking program of about 20 to 30 minutes, 3 days a week. Each session, add a few minutes to your workout to progress each week.
Reward yourself! Give yourself a massage when you reach your goals, or maybe some new workout clothes.
Set daily or weekly goals.
Surround yourself with supportive people.
Prepare for your workout the night before.
Wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing and proper footwear.
Make a conscious effort to add incidental exercise to everyday activities.
